Former Lawrence High School girls basketball standout Julie (Heldt) Wonders was one of five individuals and one team inducted last Friday, Sept. 20, into the Northern Michigan University Hall of Fame.
Katelyn Baney, of Paw Paw, won the girls seventh grade Knights of Columbus free throw shooting State Championship, March 17, in Mt Pleasant, MI.
Baney made 21 of 25 free throws at the Mt Pleasant Sacred Heart High School gymnasium to capture the trophy.
The Mattawan Wildcat girls’ basketball team traveled to Portage Central for a chance to play for a Division 1 District title.
