The Gobles softball team opened its 2018 season last Thursday hosting Martin in a doubleheader. The Tigers offense did not have a good start to the season, garnering just one hit over both games.

Mattawan’s varsity softball team had blown through the post-season tournament, making its way to Secchia Stadium at Michigan State University last Thursday for the state semi-finals for the third straight year.

After defeating the Raiders previously in extra innings by one run, and then falling to them, 3-12, earlier in the season, the Lawrence Tigers softball team knew the semi-final districts game would be a challenge, but the team didn’t expect to lose, 10-0, ending their season.
