LAWTON - This past week, the Lawton Blue Devils track and field team hosted three area schools, including the Lawrence Tigers. Lawton dominated both the boys’ and girls’ sides of the meet.
PAW PAW - Paw Paw High School 2017 graduate, Lewis Tate, will be moving on this fall to the University of Michigan, where he will compete in both track and cross country for the Wolverines.
The Gobles track team competed in Regionals at Comstock last Friday night. The Tigers had three boys qualify for the state meet - Travis Chandler finished third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 42.30; Andrew Kimble placed second in the high jump with a leap of 5’10”.
The Lawton varsity track teams traveled to Comstock Friday for the MHSAA Regional meet. Despite the pouring rain and cold temperatures, the Blue Devils turned in some terrific performances.
Gobles hosted the Little Guys Invitational Saturday with 16 teams competing. Saugatuck took top honors for the boys with a score of 151.5, and the girls, with193.50 points. The Gobles boys finished in fourth place with 57 points, and the girls placed seventh with 41 points.
The Lawrence track teams traveled to Decatur High School last week to face five other schools for the Southwestern Athletic Conference Central Division meet.
