Lawrence students to present “High School Musical Jr.”
LAWRENCE - A group of Lawrence Public Schools students have been working hard to bring a musical back to the school and next week, will present Disney’s “High School Musical Jr.” for three performances, March 17, 18 and 19.
The cast of students range from sixth to 12th grade.
“If Lawrence has ever done a musical, it was long, long ago as I have been here for 38 years,” said Jennifer Beal, a sixth grade teacher.
“High School Musical Jr.” will be performed in the high school’s Dorothy Jung Audio-Visual Room, March 17, 18 at 7 p.m., and a matinee on Sunday, March 19 at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.
Monica Washington Padula is the production’s music director.
In addition to the musical, the performing arts at the district has also seen the return of the Senior Play, under the direction of district teacher Aaron Amthor, as part of his Drama Class.
