The Paw Paw District Library is hosting a special Author Event for a Michigan Notable Book author. Desiree Cooper, the author of Know the Mother, a collection of short stories, will be here on Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. The library will open for a while that day just for her.
Cooper calls her stories “flash fiction” because they are written so quickly. She is an African-American writer and activist from Detroit, a former attorney, and has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in Journalism.
“A lot of accomplishments, but she has never been to Paw Paw,” said Library Director John Mohney. The public is invited; there is no admission charge.
The Michigan Notable Books author tour is funded by the Michigan Humanities Council and the Library of Michigan Foun-dation. Call Mohney at 657-3800, with any questions.
A book signing session will follow the program.
Family Movie Night will be held on Tuesday, March 21 at 6 p.m.. The feature to be shown is Disney’s “Moana”. This movie is for all ages. No registration is required.
Three Study Rooms and the Community Room will  be painted on Saturday, April 1. This means that no one may use them all that day. “I’m sorry for the inconvenience,” said Mohney.
