    Three Mattawan High School graduating seniors are among 10 area recipients of $1,000 scholarships from Consumers Credit Union. They are:
    Cayla Stout, who will be attending Grand Valley State University; and Bryan Hag-enbarth and Karli Hall, whose future plans are taking them to Western Mich-igan University.
    Funds for the Consum-ers Scholars program are collected from coin ma-chines and from Consumers employees, who contribute through paycheck donations. Scholarships were awarded to students who will attend a university, college or trade school in fall of 2020. Selection was based on academic achievement, community service and an essay.

    Samuel Lever, of Matta-wan, was recently named to the Dean’s List at the College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, VA, for the spring 2020 semester. To achieve such status, a full-time student must earn a 3.6 Quality Point Average during the semester.

    Melissa Smith, of Law-ton, graduated with a Bache-lor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University, Athens, OH, at the conclusion of the spring semester.

    Kenda Pakulski, of Paw Paw, graduated from Sagi-naw Valley State University, University Center, MI, following the 2020 winter semester.

    Kate Lawlor, of Mattawan, has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2020 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Lawlor is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Religion.

    Local students earned spots on the President’s and Dean’s Lists for Spring 2020 semester at Lake Michigan College. Recognized for their academic achievement were:
    President’s List (4.0 GPA) - Lisabeth Edson of Lawrence.
    Dean’s List (3.5 GPA or higher) - Lauren Agnone, Kiarra Herson, and William Wright, all of Paw Paw; and Marystel Basurto-Cruz, Lauryn Crandall, Abby Matheny, Ethan Payment, and Cassandra Tule, all of Lawrence.
    Part-Time Dean’s List - Jacob Broadwater, Trina Klein, Kaylei Mead, Libbee Nason, and Kendal Schmitt, all of Paw Paw; Carly Lynch and Randi Moerman, of Lawton;  Morgan Taylor, of Mattawan; Tara Grauman, Sadey Huizing, and Abigail Tinkler, all of Gobles; and Arek Bak, Sara Matheny, Sara Shugars, and Gavin Winkel, all of Lawrence.

    Five area students Northern Michigan University, Marquette, have made the Dean’s List for the Winter 2020 semester.  Johnathan Doman and Anne Huston, both of Gobles, qualified for honors with a grade point average of 4.00. Finishing the term with a grade point average bet-ween 3.50-3.99 were Trev-or Lewis and Erin Mortimer, of Paw Paw; and Hannah Hoffman, of Mattawan.

    Grand Valley State University, Allendale, MI, has announced the names of students who were placed on the dean’s list for the Winter 2020 semester concluded in April. The list includes these local students who have maintained a 3.5 grade point average while enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits:
