Multiple car thefts reported

    The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating multiple car larcenies in the Bloomingdale Township area, ac-cording to a press release.
    Sheriff’s deputies report that five vehicles had been broken into during the overnight hours of Jan. 4 and 5 in various locations.
    The vehicles were all left unattended and unlocked. Deputies remind area residents to keep their vehicles locked and remove all valuable items.  
    Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott said, “Please stay alert and re-port any suspicious vehicles or people in the area.”
     Anyone with information in reference to the car break-ins may contact the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office at (269) 657-3101, Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 342-7867, Silent Observer  at (269) 343-2100 or your local police department.
    Mobile phone users and online users can provide anonymous crime tips to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office by sending a text Tip Soft message by sending a text message to “CRIMES” (274637) with the keyword VBCTIP from a mobile phone.
