While schools are closed in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the 11 Van Buren County school systems - Bangor, Bloomingdale, Covert, Decatur, Gobles, Hartford, Lawton, Lawrence, Mattawan, Paw Paw, South Haven - and the Van Buren Intermediate School District have all been working together to get meals to the students in their districts. “It is wonderful to see so many staff members coming together to prepare, deliver and get needed meals in the hands of students,” said VBISD Supt. Jeff Mills

Living with the precautionary restrictions ordered to curtail the spread of COVID-19,  county families forced to stay home may need help feeding their children, who would ordinarily get breakfast and lunch at school. Free food distribution began almost immediately when schools were closed, and continue this week at sites across Van Buren County.  Some minor changes to the schedule may be noted at pick-up points in The Courier-Leader coverage area.
