Work on the new Van Buren County Health Department at the Van Buren Tech Center in Lawrence has begun and continues on schedule, according to Jeff Mills, Van Buren Intermediate School District Superintendent.  Mills said the weather has been very cooperative for the build, which is expected to be completed by December of this year. In photo, the steel frame nears completion. A groundbreaking held last September for the building marked the beginning of a partnership between the VBISD and the Van Buren/Cass Health Department.  The new building will house the health department and serve as an educational facility for ISD students, offering skills training in health and wellness fields.  “It’s exciting to see the progress,” said Mills.
