Lawrence Schools back in business following high rate of absence due to illness

    LAWRENCE - Lawrence Public Schools was closed on Wednesday, March 15, due to excessive staff and student illness.
    The district has seen many students absent or leaving school due to illness, according to an announcement that was posted on the school district’s website.
    Symptoms included severe headache, stomach ache, fever and vomiting.
    Janitorial staff were busy last week disinfecting both buildings in anticipation of students returning on Thursday.
