BOB SEGER BIOGRAPHER ROCKS AT VBDL WEBSTER
   DECATUR -
Van Buren County Commissioner Don Hanson is proof that elected officials rock. Hanson was one of many Bob Seger fans who braved a snowy night to meet the author of the first and only biography of Michigan’s rock icon at VBDL Webster Memorial, Decatur.
Dr. Edward Balian, originally from Detroit and now from California, is touring the state to present his book Turn the Page: The Bob Seger Story. According to Balian, the book, first released in January 2019, “summarizes the brilliant and astonishing career of a true Hall of Fame composer and entertainer. Seger’s body of over 50 years of work, coupled to his love of music and an almost unbelievable tenacity, led him to well-deserved fame and fortune. A career full of major challenges - a rock’n’roll roller-coaster to be sure.”
Balian is donating 30 percent of the book’s royalties to charity, half of which go to Seger’s favorite charity, Oakland County Children’s Village. Balian’s Michigan tour schedule can be found online at https://bobsegerturnthepage.com.

WEBSTER BOOK CLUB ANNOUNCES MARCH SELECTION
   DECATUR -
Kirkus Reviews, an American book review magazine founded in 1933, calls the Webster Book Club’s March selection “a warmly candid memoir of navigating family, aging and death.”
They Left Us Everything by Plum Johnson is the topic of discussion Monday, March 16, at 6 p.m., VBDL Webster Mem-orial, Decatur.
Upon the death of her 93-year old mother, the author assumed that emptying and selling the beloved family home would be a relatively easy task. “How tough could it be?” she asked herself, “I know how to buy garbage bags.”
They Left Us Everything is a funny, touching memoir about the importance of preserving family history to make sense of the past, and nurturing family bonds to safeguard the future.
Copies of the book are available at VBDL Webster Memorial. The discussion is open to the public.
