Paw Paw Brewing Company's official grand opening

Paw Paw Brewing Company staged the official grand opening of its new taproom at 780 S. Gremps Street last Thursday with a full day’s celebration, kicked off with a Paw Paw Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting, at noon. Live entertainment and special menu items added to guests’ brew tasting and mingling. The 6,000-sq.-ft. pub, plus the more than 10,000-sq.ft. warehouse is a huge step up from the 800-sq.-ft. space founder Ryan Sylvester opened on E. Michigan Avenue in 2010. The new facility used to house a canning factory in the southwest corner of the village near the Paw Paw River and along an abandoned rail line, primed for brownfield redevelopment.  With the help of village and county economic development resources, Sylvester and co-owner Eric Pearlstein, were able to remodel the old factory into a facility capable of entertaining couples on a night out, families, and larger groups needing space for meetings, events and parties.  A full service kitchen, where Chef David Lodygowski and staff offer a full menu highlighting the craft beer produced on-site and local produce according to the changing seasons.  There are plans for outdoor seating and a dog-friendly patio on the horizon, too.  PPB offers over 100 unique recipes and distributes nearly 20 brands throughout the state of Michigan.
