Health services available to county’s veterans

    PAW PAW -The Van Buren County Veterans Health Services Program is scheduled to begin with a start-up date yet to be determined due to COVID-19 pandemic.
    The health services program is available to all honorably discharged veterans and current spouses who are Van Buren County residents. Individuals must have proof of residency, such as a drivers’ license, state ID, passport, etc., as well as discharge papers (DD-214) and insurance cards, if any.
    In conjunction with the Van Buren Cass District Health Department, Van Buren County is sponsoring dental care, immunizations and vision/hearing examinations to eligible veterans and their current spouses, subject to $1,000 per person after private insurance, if any, is ex-hausted. A total of $50,000 is available. The program will end once the $50,000 threshold has been met.
    Registration is required at the Van Buren Cass District Health Department, 57418 County Road 681, Hartford, or call 1 (800) 210-1921 (press O for operator).
