Paw Paw man faces multiple methamphetamine charges

    PAW PAW - A 59-year-old Paw Paw man faces a variety of drug-related charges following his arrest Tuesday night in the Village of Paw Paw, according to  a press release from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
    Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott reported that the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted multiple drug buy operations where methamphetamine was purchased from the  subject. Narcotics detectives obtained felony arrest warrants for the subject for these drug buy operations.  
    On Tuesday, April 30, at approximately 7 p.m, narcotics detectives, along with Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office deputies and  Paw Paw Police Department officers, made contact with the  subject, who was arrested on the fugitive warrant. During the arrest,  the subject was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia.
    Narcotics detectives then obtained a search warrant for the subject’s residence, which was then searched. Inside the residence officers found 26.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
    The subject was arrested without incident and transported to the Van Buren County Jail. He now faces new felony charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house, possession of methamphetamine; and three counts of sale/delivery of methamphetamine.
    A  report will be forwarded to the Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
