Paw Paw Twp. to put road millage request on March ballot

    PAW PAW TWP. -  Paw Paw Township residents will be asked next March to vote on a 1.00 mil for township roads, following action Nov. 11 by the  Paw Paw Township Board.
    Paw Paw Township Supervisor  Don Stull said the Village of Paw Paw already has a millage in effect.  The township’s road millage request would also  include the Village of Paw Paw.
    A public hearing was held for Lake Brownwood Weed Assessment, prior to the regular meeting. Dave Van Doren, of Lake Brownwood Association   addressed the board and gave approval to proceed with the assessment.
    Van Doren told the board that a new chemical is needed to treat the Cabomba weed that has been discovered in the lake. Van Doren said treatment  must be done yearly, and requested an increase or addition to the existing weed assessment.
    Following the public hearing, the board approved  the original assessment and an increase The board approved a resolution to maintain the original assessment of $45 per parcel, as well as an additional $55 per parcel to assessment due to the Cabomba weed.
