Special Olympics team wins silver

   The Van Buren Roadrunners Special Olympics Volleyball Team represented Michigan Special Olympics at the National Games held in Seattle, Washington from June 30 through July 7. They won the silver medal with their only losses during pool and medal play to the eventual gold medal-winning team from Washington.
   Members of the team and their coaches are, from left:  back row - Coach Tim McDaniel, Brian Albretsen of Mattawan, Steve Northam of Kalamazoo, Travis Short of Bangor, David Strand of Gobles, and Chris Newman of Lawrence; middle row - Alex Amos of Pullman, Dustin Ockerman of Bloomingdale, Nick White of Gobles, Jarrel Greathouse of Lawrence,  Adele Brown of Grand Junction,  Coach Paula Mott , and Coach Bill Nelson; front row - Omri, National Games Liaison volunteer, and Daniel Herrera of Lawrence.
