Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office honors

Mark Stickels, right, a member of the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, was honored last Friday, Feb. 16, on his retirement, marking more than 40 years of law enforcement service with the sheriff’s office. Stickels was a member of the Van Buren County Marine Patrol Division, Uniform Response, Dive Team Honor, Guard, and the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team. Van Buren County Sheriff Dan Abbott, left, presented Stickels with a tribute that read in part, “Thank you for being a positive role model in our community and thank you for being  the type of deputy that Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office takes great pride in.”
