Readers’ Voice

Dear Readers,
We, Blue Star Mothers of Southwest MI #179, are so thankful and blessed to live in communities that support and love our military service members as much as we do. Southwest MI communities united as one to complete the mission of spreading Christmas Cheer to service members who are serving far from home this Holiday season.
Donations came pouring in from all around. There were handmade pillowcases, Christmas stockings, slippers, prayer squares and letters for our service members. Also donated were food items, Girl Scout cookies, caramel popcorn from Cub Scouts, blankets, crossword puzzles, toiletries, playing cards, money (needed for postage and extra goodies) and so much more.
“Operation Holiday Cheer” was held on November 10th at the Lions Club in Paw Paw. People, both young and old, came together to help us (BSM) pack boxes of these wonderful items and ship them to local military personnel who are serving overseas this holiday season. With your generous hearts and loving hands, we were able to pack and mail 120 large boxes (postage $2,467.30) filled with enough items to be shared among five or more troops per box (total wt. shipped 2,138 lbs.). With your help, we were able to spread Christmas Cheer to 600 service members!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Blue Star Mothers Southwest MI #179 is so thankful to each and every one of you!
    Sincerely,
   Cathy Arrans
