Tigers sweep Cardinals

    Gobles’ softball team grabbed a couple of wins over the Bloomingdale Cardinals, a 17-7 and 14-13 sweep.  
    In the first game of the night, the Tigers had an 11-7 advantage going into the sixth inning, and capped of their slaughter by scoring six more runs. Emily Baxter, Libbee Nason, Morgan Witt, Amanda Barber and Tatum Miller all contributed RBI, as Gobles tallied 14 hits to Bloomingdale’s nine in the contest.  
    Collecting hits for the Tigers were Miller with three hits; Nason (DBL), Witt, Baxter, and Maddy Tiller (DBL) with two hits each; Destiny Woodard with two doubles; and Emily Lopez with one double.
    Lopez earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for the Tigers. She allowed nine hits and struck out four batters.
    The nightcap was a hitter’s paradise with a total of 30 hits in the game - Gobles had 16 and Bloomingdale, 14. The Tigers trailed 10-8 going into the fifth inning when they erupted for six runs. Bloomingdale scored three more runs before their efforts fell short.
    Gobles’ Libbee Nason was 4-4 with a double and a triple. Maddy Tiller had a home run and was 3-4 at the plate. Tatum Miller went 2-4 and Emily Lopez, 2-3.  
    Lopez was again the winning pitcher, allowing four runs on six hits over three innings of work. Maddy Brady threw four innings in relief.
