Lawrence takes two games from Marcellus

   The Lawrence Tigers varsity baseball team picked up a pair of wins against the Marcellus Wildcats last Thursday, May 23, pounding the Wildcats in the first game, 15-4, then 10-5 in the nightcap.
   Lawrence scored four runs in the first inning, and three  in the second, to hold an early 7-0 lead.
   The Tigers sealed the win with two runs in the  top of the third, followed by a six-run scoring blast in the fourth.
   For Lawrence, Jacob Edson and Zach Payment each had  three hits; Edson had one RBI and Payment, five RBI.
   Zach Payment picked up the pitching win for Law-rence.
   In the second game, Lawrence  jumped out to a 4-1 lead at the end of one inning.
   Marcellus came back with four runs in the  bottom of the third to hold a slim one run lead, 5-4.
   The Tigers then rallied for  three runs in the fourth, one run in the fifth and two in the sixth inning to pick up the win.
   Ethan Payment had  three hits and four RBI for Lawrence. He also picked up the win for the Tigers, striking out 11 batters and giving up five hits.
