LAWRENCE - The Lawrence Tigers boys basketball team earned another win over the holiday break  defeating the Bangor Vikings, 65-50.
Lawrence trailed early in the game when, Brandon Lopez, kicked off the offensive momentum. The senior scored five points in a row, and from there, the Tigers slowly added to their lead, finishing the first quarter up 20-16.
Lawrence kept the offense strong in the second period, and quickly claimed a lead that would last the remainder of the game.  Lewis Williams hit two long three-point baskets to give Lawrence a 32-19 lead. Jacob Zapata and Clay Beal hit shots from behind the arc and Lawrence held a 42-23 lead at the half.
For the Vikings, there was no stopping the Tigers from sinking their three pointers.  Williams and Brandon Lopez opened up the quarter each with a long bucket. The quarter ended when Zach Payment drove the ball in and gave Lawrence a 57-38 lead going into the final quarter.
The duo of Payment and Lopez didn’t let up in the final moments. The two helped Lawrence take a 20 point lead with two minutes left to play.
The next home game for Lawrence will be January 13 at 7 p.m. against Lake Michigan Catholic.
