Gobles High School had nine bowlers this year in the Tigers’ inaugural first season.
“The Gobles Bowling team was something new to all these kids this year, and they were amazing!” said Gobles Coach Karrie Brunner. “We have a very young team and they are all eager to learn, as coaches that is what makes our job fun. We are excited about the hard work that everyone put in this year and already eager to start building for next year.”
Gobles freshman Morgan Brunner advanced to the State Tournament at Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing.  She  was one of seven freshmen competing in the field of 60 bowlers. She had a rough start but fought back to jump 10 places in the last two games, finishing 41st with a score of 924 for the six games (137, 129, 145, 157, 181 and 175).
“I couldn't be prouder of Morgan,” said Brunner. “She helped her team learn the game she loves all season. She won All-Conference, top 10 regional finish and competed in state championships in her freshman year. It's only the start of a young career and great things to come from her,” the coach added.
