LAWRENCE - The Southwestern Michigan 8-Man Football Conference is expanding for the 2020 season, according to an announcement from the league’s commissioner.
Aaron Amthor, Lawrence Jr.-Sr. High School Athletic director, and the league’s commissioner,  said, “New additions to the conference are Marcellus, Bangor, and Eau Claire high schools. With these additions, we now have a 10-team conference in Southwest Michigan.”
The three new teams will join Lawrence, Bridgman, Lake Michigan Catholic, Martin, Michigan Lutheran, New Buffalo and Wyoming  Tri-Unity Christian,  who formed the new league for the 2019 season.
Amthor said, “We are excited to see 8-man football growing in the area, and are humbled to know that we are playing an intrinsic role in that growth. We are also excited to see how this league will grow, as other schools decide to make the change to 8-man football.”
