PAW PAW - Lady Redskin junior soccer standout Claudia Muessig led the way to Paw Paw’s 3-1 triumph over South Haven Monday at the Paw Paw Soccerplex.
The Rams scored early and took a 1-0 lead into the break, but Muessig took over the game when play resumed with a little help from her friends, especially sophomore Kate Nelson. After Nelson found Muessig with a nice pass to knot the score, the pair decided they liked the result so much they repeated it a few minutes later to take a lead they would not relinquish.
Muessig later alluded the Rams’ net minder again to put the game away. The Redskins’ defense took charge the rest of the way with Rachel Babcock performing well in goal with 11 saves.

At Edwardsburg last Wednesday, the Lady Reds were rewarded with an impressive 7-0 win over the Orange and Blue Eddies.  Kailie Yarbrough started the scoring with a goal assisted by Anna Glomski.  Claudia Muessig hit the back of the net next with help from Yarbrough.
Muessig soon made it a 3-0 game followed by a score from freshman Baylee Smith aided by Muessig. Smith found Muessig for another score to make it a 5-0 contest at the break.
Muessig hit the goal in the second half with Kylie Combs assisting, and Katy Marger placed the final shot in goal.
Muessig completed a great night’s work with five goals and one assist, and Rachel Babcock earned the shutout victory in goal.
