Gobles errors are costly

   The Gobles softball team struggled against Watervliet in a doubleheader on Monday afternoon, committing six errors in the first game. The Tigers managed only four hits, while allowing the Panthers to belt out 13. Gobles lost the first game 14-2.  Emily Lopez took the loss, pitching six innings. The Tigers had one hit each from Maddy Tiller (DBL), Libbee Nason, Amanda Barber and Lopez.
   The second game did not go much better for the Tigers, though their hitting improved. Gobles had nine hits in the game to Watervliet’s 16. Freshman Amanda Barber started in the circle for Gobles, going three innings, allowing seven hits. Freshman Maddy Brady came in as relief, for four innings, allowing nine hits.
   Morgan Witt was 3-3 at the plate for Gobles. Nason had two hits (DBL); Barber and Lopez, one hit each; Tatum Miller, two doubles.
