The Paw Paw Area Senior Citizens Club met Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Antwerp Township Activity Center with 15 members in attendance.

The Good Horsekeeping Expo, set for February 2 at the Van Buren Conference Center in Lawrence, will offer something for both horse owners and non-owners. The expo runs from 10- 5 p.m. and is free to attend.
Michigan State Police has received complaints from area residents about a possible scam that involves rental properties over the Internet. The intent is to receive money from victims while posing as the owner of a property for sale, according to a press release from MSP.
Nick King, of Mattawan, was named to the dean’s list at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA, for the fall semester of the 2018-19 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive such recognition.
HARTFORD TWP. - The names of individuals involved in a double fatal, two-vehicle head-on collision, Jan. 12, in Hartford Township, have been released by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.

PAW PAW - The ACLU of Michigan filed a complaint Monday with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR), asking that the Paw Paw Public School District be investigated for “maintaining a racially hostile educational environment.”
The Lawton High School student body selected Jimmy McCarthy and Abigail Carpenter to be their 2019 Winter Homecoming king and queen. The couple was crowned in ceremonies held during the Blue Devils’ varsity basketball game against Constantine Friday night.
