PAW PAW - Some strong singles play by the Lady Redskins was a large factor in an impressive 5-3 tennis win over a good Otsego team last Thursday.  All four singles flights won in straight sets. No. 1 Loreana Alves Castellanos won 6-0, 6-0; No. 2 Erica Holter, 6-0, 6-1; No. 3 Kelsie Imus, 6-2, 6-0; and in a tight No. 4 flight, Meredith Brown won, 6-2, 7-6 (6-5).  Added to Paw Paw’s success was a 6-1, 6-1 doubles victory for Mariah Kelly and Sierra Dooley.

The Lady Redskins headed to South Haven last Wednesday for a Wolverine Conference  meet; and  despite cold and windy weather, the girls had a good day, returning home with an 8-0 sweep of the Lady Rams.  Singles performances by Alves Castellanos, Holter, Imus, and Brown all resulted in straight set wins, with just two games lost across the four matches.
All four doubles duos - Abby Schupbach/Meredith Overacker, Macy Imus/Aleah Watson, Emily Malcolm/Erica Schaefer, and Mariah Kelly/Sierra Dooley - took two-set victories, raising their team record to 4-1 on the season, and 2-0 in the conference.
