Paw Paw boasts some consistent finishers

    Plainwell - The Paw Paw boys track team lost to Allegan, 75-57, and Plainwell,  82-51, in duals last Wednesday.
    Top three finishers for Paw Paw were Charles Miller, Jonah Maichele, and Joshua VanRoekel.  Miller claimed first in the 200m (23.73) and second in the 100m (12.08);  Maichele was first in the 800m (2:11.40) and 1600m (4:46.62); 110 hurdles Joshua Van Roekel finished first  in the 110m hurdles (17.50) and second in the 300m hurdles(44.00).
    In relays and field events, Paw Paw placed third in the 4x200 - Sam Wood, Van Roekel, Kayden Mc Clish and Miller (1:41.97); third in the 4x400 - Maichele, Van Roekel, Miller, and Wood (3:4411); third in the 4x800 - Brady Flanders, Josh Reshman, Alex LaRue, and Caleb Bastian (9:59.60); Connor Hindenach finished second in the shot put (45’00.50”) and discus  (106’10”); and Wood landed in first in the long jump (18’2”).  


    At the annual Wolverine Conference Track Meet at Edwardsburg Saturday, the Paw Paw boys came in seventh and the girls finished eighth out of the 10-team field.
    The Paw Paw aggregation turned in some quality performances, including:
    For the girls, Mackenzie Miller took third place in the 100 meter with a 13.58 time, Molly Thompson was runner- up in the 3200 meter with an 11:43.18 clocking, and the 4x100 meter relay team of Katherine Miller, Annalisa Maichele, Paige Miller, and Mackenzie Miller took third place at 54.79.
    In the boys competition, Charles Miller finished second in the 100 meter with an 11.57 time, Jonah Maichele was third in the 1600 meter (4:35.30), and Connor Hindenach threw a personal best 47’2” in the shot put, good for third place.  
    All of the above Redskins are members of the 2018-19 All-Wolverine First Team for the season.
